Low tide flats for about 100 yards off beach. Clean water. Generally flat, with wind driven swells when wind picks up. Nice breakers given depth of water in 20+ knots of wind.

Most wide open public beach in western CT. Jetties and piers exist, but other than that the beach is over 1 mile long. The beach is generally sandy with decent width. Watch out for some rocks (mainly sandy) and some shells.

New Haven Metro North Train from NYC to Milford. Exit I-95 N 33 or exit 34 I-95 S. Head to water. Park as far as you can east, then walk east past the first jetty.
