Mainly gusty North wind, about 6-18 knots. Best winds in spring and summer. It works only with sunshine, without any clouds, then the thermial kicks in at noon. The strongest winds come with cold nights and hot days, and no rain for at least 24 hours.

Get directions from


A95, then S2370 to Grosswell, then S2062 to Kochel. Drive south on B11 and get to Walchensee. A bit further south you will get to Zwergern. Here get on the peninsula. Park on the parking lot and do not drive up to the beach on the walkway. You have to walk for about 20min, or get a bike, blades, etc.
