Huge lagoon (about 12 km). Flat water, with stronger winds choppy. Mangroves and trees in the water. There is a 150m wide channel between the mangroves for flat water. Small mangroves island about 600m from shore. In about 3km distance 2 further islands, nice for small trips. Sandy bottom.

Excellent, constant wind. From April to October stronger and more reliable. Winter can also be excellent. Normally thermal wind all year. Wind direction in the morning typically is sideshore (ever so slightly offshore), and turns into side-sideonshore shortly before noon (thermal wind coming in). Truly exceptionally great conditions whenever the wind comes from the South (rarely).

Get directions from


About 450 km south from Hurghada, about 150 kilometers north of the border to Sudan. Flight to Marsa Alam, then about 2.5 hours by bus or car. Flight to Hurghada, then about 5 hours by bus or car.
