The wind blows here at least 3-4 days during the week. The wind averages from 10-15. Sometimes it blows 15-20+. Watch out for West winds, they can be gusty and change rapidly. Best in NW, W and WSW. This place is a perfect place to ride on a West wind. It is a bit gusty but is one of the few east coast places to ride on a West wind.

Take I-95 towards Savannah GA, Exit on highway 16 east to Savannah. Come into downtown Savannah and hit Bay Street. Go to the end of Bay Street and turn left on President Street. Follow President Street until it turns into Highway 80, follow 80 for 20 mins and you will run into Tybee Island. Turn left on US 80 onto Polk Street and get to the beach. Park on the grass by Tybee Water Dept. Do not drive to the beach.
Kiters must wear kite leashes on Tybee Island. Impact harnesses are suggested. Do not kite alone. Gusty West winds, be careful. Winds can change rapidly. Be aware.
The Tybee Island Social Club is a great place to get an awesome bite to eat and enjoy some live music. The atmosphere is great and the gourmet tacos are delicious. Downtown Savannah is also very close and has great nightlife. With a huge selections of bars and restaurants it is hard to get bored visiting Savannah.
