In winter with West winds and swell big waves (1-3m), 50m flat in between, rest of year choppy. With Levante very flat water at the south end of the beach, close to the harbor.

Offshore Levante is gusty and strong between 15-30 knots normally but some days 40 knots. Poniente (West wind) is perfect for kitesurfing with 8-20 knots. In Levante up to 1 Bft more than the beaches further north.

Get directions from


Fly into Malaga or Jerez de la Fontera. Tarifa is the most southern point of Spain. The beach is on the right side of the Tarifa port.

No kitesurfing or windsurfing during summer months. For advanced riders only with the offshore Levante. Be ready to leave your gear if you get into trouble.
