The stronger the winds the higher the waves. The waves can get high, so be careful. You can kite to the mangroves to the Southwest (3/4 mile) there is shallow supper flat water. If you get stuck there (down wind) the beach walk back is sand the whole way.

Get directions from


From San Juan take the 52 to the South coast and drive further west to Ponce. Then take the 2 and later 116 south to Guanica. In Guanica take the 333 along the coast until you get to Tamarindo Beach.
