Important info for downwinders: 1. About 10 km downwind is a beach-side army camp. Access to the beach and area around the camp is not allowed. Given the recent civil war and a history of bombings and attacks from the sea, those guys tend to be on high alert and don't like anyone coming close. The recommendation from the locals is to tack well out to sea (one kilometer or preferably more) until you have passed the army camp. 2. Shortly after the army camp is a point where the beach veers sharply to the east. The waves can be rough here but this is where you must land as the wind can go offshore and get gusty at that point. It is possible to travel further downwind but then you must have pre-arranged your own 4WD transportation back. So, in short, you have to make sure to be far out from the army camp but then hit the landing spot shortly afterwards. 3. If you land at that spot at sunset, you have to walk through a village with quite a lot of drunken soldiers. You'll be OK if you know your way and know how to handle young drunken army boys, but it would be best to come with someone experienced.

Nightlife
No nightlife - rural, isolated area. There are some basic roadside eating places on the "main road" a 15 minute ride away.
