Lots of wind. Small kites needed. You can almost always count on wind here when North Coast beaches are too light to kite. Directly beneath the jetty the NW is sideshore, but a bit further south N is sideshore.

Get directions from


From Newport drive south on Oregon Coast Hwy over the Yaquina River bridge and take the first right after it and enter the South Beach State Park. Drive west until the road ends and park.
