The beach is sandy and becomes very big exposed at low tides. Some rocks on the S/SE tip, but very obvious and easy to avoid. Sandy Cay is only accessible by boat.

Winter winds are usually best, from December to March. Can be good all year, except for September and early October. Summer winds are thermal, and come up in the afternoons. Hurricane season is June 1. to November 30. Sandy Cay beach curves around, and really can be ridden on most wind directions. Especially at low tide, when the sand bar is exposed!

None. Sandy Cay rarely has anyone on it! If you launch at low tide, make sure you place your gear high enough up on the land so that when high tide comes, your things will be safe and dry.
