It´s possible to ride all year. In the summer there are lifeguards. Try not to disturb people on the beach and lifeguards will be nice and friendly. Sometimes they can help you out.

Get directions from

Drive by A17 to Monte Real. Then follow directions to Vieira de Leiria and from there drive to Praia da Vieira. Riders meet at the "Ancora" bar. Once you are in Praia da Vieira, if you go on the one way road beside the beach, direction north you will find a reasonable parking lot in front of the "Ancora" cafe.
