Shallow close to shore which makes it warm up quickly. Superbly flat when wind is Westerly or North Westerly. Wind is offshore but there is a beach 300 m downwind for safety. Waves occasionally break on a NE Swell but not very common in summer.

Usable on West or Northwest. Both fairly common winds in summer months. Westerly is the predominant direction here in summer so we use this spot more than any other.

Take the Conception Bay Highway (60) to Conception Bay South, Riverdale, Killigrews. Once you reached Killigrews turn right at Pond Rd. and drive to its end.
There are only a couple of us out so if alone helmet and impact vest is a good idea. There is an inshore rescue service.
St. John's is 15 minutes away and has some of the best nightlife in Canada.
