A bit narrow on the sand side. Have to wade out into the water about 4 metres (30m lines). Great launching area (no trees etc.), soft white sand and not too many beach goers (other than kiters).

S/SW sideonshore (summer), N/NW sideonshore (winter), gusty. SE offshore periodically. Summer southerly sea breezes are the best for this location (between about November and March). Summer sea breezes are approx 15-25 knots most days.

The train does not yet come to Rockingham but you can catch a bus to the Rockingham bus station and then catch another one to Penguin Island. By car you follow the freeway south to the end which becomes Safety Bay Road and you follow this around until you hit the water (you will see the Islands and the Cafe on the waterfront). On the corner of the point there is a cafe and a car park.
Common sense as there are a lot of families during the summer season. Just do not get too close to Penguin and Seal Islands.
A few pubs and 2 nightclubs in Rockingham (approx 5-10 minutes from this beach).
