The wind blows whenever it is dry. Normally from May to February. Best winds from August to January. Winds from 15-30 knots. Strongest months are August and September. Almost 100% wind from August to February. Main direction is E and NE. At night and in the morning SE, which turns to E and NE during the day and back to SE at night. Works with all directions. Directly at the river mouth the wind is steady. If you ride further inside on the river, the wind becomes pretty gusty.

Get to Paracuru, about 1.5 hours drive from Fortaleza. Get into the center and before the plaza turn left and drive west all the way on a sandy road for about 2.3 km. Then turn right at the sign 'Restaurante Buena Vista'. Drive the way to the end and you will get to the river mouth. If you have a buggy or 4x4 drive onto the beach and to the river mouth. If you have a normal car, go to the beach and rig your gear, and then ride to the river mouth. You can also access the other side of the river mouth from Camboas, but it is a private beach, you need a special permission.

It is forbidden to ride in the river mouth, but possible if you live at Camboas private lagoon area with a special permission. There is a time restricted ban to protect young fish for everyone. But you can ride in front of the river mouth at the ocean side, which you can only access from Paracuru. From Camboas it is a private beach and you need special permission.
