Beach is ok at low tide but quite small at high tide. Sometimes a bit difficult to take off or land your kite. Nice piece of grass in front of the hotel to put and dry the gear with no sand.

Two opposing trade winds generally govern the weather pattern: the Northwesterly trades blow from October to March when wind speeds average from 8-12 knots, and the brisker south-easterly trades blow from May to September with winds of between 10-20 knots.

Get directions from


Just south of the airport. From the international airport, turn left and drive south for about 3.5km on the main road. Ascend a hill and as you descend the other side, you’ll see Katiolo discotheque on the left (at the deep bend in the road). From that point onwards there are several places where you will be able to park your car and access the beach.
