Soft muddy bottom, some shallows near the banks. Keep clear of the dam. Built in 2005 as a reservoir so the water is clean. The lake is quite small so constant vigilance is required. Keep an eye out for underwater hazards. Several areas contain submerged logs, posts, and there's a large concrete boulder 2ft underwater just to the left of the south shore fishing pier near the dam.

Rigging areas depend on what side of the lake you are on. There are a few nice grassy areas to rig that are free of trees/away from parking. Very few people crowding the lake, most people found in summer months.

Get directions from


About 20 minutes north of Austin, very convenient. From Austin: go North on IH-35 and exit at 1825 (Pflugerville exit). Drive east on 1825 through Pflugerville until you get to Weiss Lane and then take a left. Drive until you get to Kelly Lane and take another left. The neighborhood park and lake will be on the left off Kelly Lane.

Give fishermen plenty of clearance when riding, at least 25m. If you piss these people off they can get us banned. Don't fly your kite over people. Always use a kiteleash. Stay out of the buoy area around spillway. You know, the buoys that say "keep out".
