Very flat water. Very shallow almost everywhere. Waves on the ocean side. During rainy season the lagoon can get very big, but it can also dry out once the water level is too high and it breaks through to the ocean. But it will fill with water again. Very nice place to try new tricks.

From Fortaleza drive to Taiba. Get to the beach and find the lagoon all the way to the west side of Taiba. Best access is from the beach with a buggy or 4x4.
The mayor of Taiba approved rules for riding on the lagoon: 1. No teaching. 2. No beginners, riders must be able to consistently stay upwind and jump. 3. No riding within 50m of the rocks. 4. No launching or landing downwind of the fisherman's shack. 5. Kite at your own risk: this is a very dangerous place to ride, there are many submerged rocks and other obstacles. 6. Maximum of 10 kites on the water at any given time. If there are 10 kites on the water. do not launch - wait for someone to come in. 7. Do not ride within 50m of a local fisherman in the water. 8. Respect areas where there are photo or video shoots taking place. 9. If you exhibit reckless or dangerous behavior you may be asked to leave. 10. If you break the rules, you may be asked to leave. 11. Not knowing the rules is not an excuse.
