5 miles in land from sea is the fresh water lake 1 mile wide by 4 miles long. The water is quite flat on the edge of the lake and you can get small waves ( shallow up to about 250m off shore under 1.5m deep.

The beach with easy access is about about 600m long and 70m wide. All along and around the lake shore there are various small sandy beaches, to kit up and launch from, with a pine forest back drop.

During the spring/summer months you would be looking at using 12m-20m kites. Autumn/winter 8m-14m kites, wind is blowing up due to strong depression coming from the ocean. In general the lake can be ridden in any wind direction.

Getting to Biscarrosse couldn't be easier. From Bordeaux take A63 direction Arcachon. Then follow signs to Biscorrosse.
During periods July/August all launching and landing is preferred be done in the water away from other beach users.
Biscorrosse Plage and Mimizan are 2 local nightspot and surf towns to visit. There's everything from seafood to pizza, to sports bars, disco's to a casino. Bars on the beach so you can watch the sunset over food and drink. Also there is an excellent steak house near the lake opposite of the Aldi supermarket. There are also quads bikes and go karts center locally in the area.
