The island is about 700m long and 80m wide. A wide beach goes around the island. The beach has very fine, white sand. Lots of space.

The best winds are from December to end of February. The wind will mainly blow from the East and is very consistent and smooth with no gusts. January is the strongest month with 20-35 knots daily. Beware of March, a month with no wind normally. The rest of the year varying winds from 5-25 knots, normally when the wind is up, it is up for the whole day with not much changes. Since it is an island this spot works for all directions and it is always possible to find sideshore winds.

Fun Island (locally known as Bodufinolhu) is located in the eastern reef of South Male Atoll, 38 kilometers (24 miles) from the Male International Airport. Transfer 45 minutes by speedboat from Male International Airport or from Male' - the capital island.
