Only good in NE winds. In June and July 90% wind from SW. Starts at 3pm, strongest at 7pm and lasts until sunset. In August and September the wind is not consistent. In October and November 70% wind. Easiest is a rental car. Follow the signs to the Outer Banks from Norfolk (route 168S and then 158S). Then take route 12 south all the way down and get to Buxton. In North Buxton exit highway 12 onto Forest Road and once the road splits keep left and park next to the beach.
Not a beginners beach. Be aware of the metal jetties in the water.
No nightlife.
