The water is turquoise blue and crystal clear. When the wind is out of the West, Girl's Bank is the option on the other side of the island. A massive `bonefish flat` with knee to waist deep water for miles - all perfectly flat.

Wind can be counted on 4-5 days per week from October to December and February to May. January is hit and miss and the summer months you can only expect wind 1-2 days a week. In the windy season, wind ranges from 15-30 kts and usually blows a nice 20-22 kts. The wind is usually blowing from the NE to SE.

Get directions from

Fly into Miami, Ft. Lauderdale or Nassau Bahamas and take a flight to North Eleuthra. From there take a water taxi across the harbour to Harbour Island. It's on the west side of the island. The best is to catch the high speed ferry called `Bohingi` in Nassau to Harbour Island.

One must be careful not to dump their kite in a West wind due to rocky shores and a couple of marinas lining the shore of HI. Outside of that, the kiting is great.
