Very big, sandy beach. Sailing at Maspalomas at two places: La Punta and El Faro La Punta: Located at the very tip of the sand spit. Easiest access from the very end of avda de Tijarana.

Wind

Best Months:
January, February, March, October, November, December
Wind Type:
Trade Winds
Best Direction:
ENE, E, SSE, S, SW, WSW, W
Main Direction:
NE

The NE trade winds don't really reach to this beach. However, if the wind comes a bit more from the east, it hits it and makes it a great beach to ride on. In winter Southerlies winds make it excellent as well. Works in the winter at Easterly winds. El Faro: Not really allowed to kite here either but only really works on W-SW winds anyway which means crappy weather and no tourists on the beach. At these times there is no problem to sail here and it can be most excellent right in front of the jetty sticking out from the lighthouse.

The beach is off limits to others than members of the AKBC (assc kiteboarding canarias) and the members have a club lycra to prove membership. Please do respect this as there has been a lot of negotiations with the local council to get access at all. The beach was closed for some years before this agreement.
