It's an island in a lake. Depending on what side of the island you are on the waves can get to around 5-7 feet at times. There are beaches in every wind direction on the island all ranging from a mile long to 2 miles long.

There are four beaches in all directions N, E, S, W. Three of the beaches are nice soft sand that gets very hot at times. And the beach facing the south is very hard packed sand with shallow waters. All the beaches have more then enough space to launch any size kite safely and land.

From Toronto take 400 to Barrie. From Barrie to Cedar Point Road, where you have to get on a ferry that runs about every hour. Once you are on the island it is a 10 min drive to any beach.
