East Beach has a designated kite surfing area. A very safe area to kitesurf in 2ft of water. Tidal beach. On a low tide a lagoon remains but requires a long walk to reach it. Friendly safe location.

Works well on anything except NW, although at low tide you can still go out too the lagoons. Wind can be anything with depressions coming through. Summer lighter winds, best in spring and autumn.

Follow the coast round from the center of Southend heading for Shoeburyness. Once you pass the coast guard station take the next right. Take that road to the end. Turn left then with in a 100 yards turn right. At the end of that road is the entrance to the cafe. Parking for surfers is a problem here.

All kitesurfers must have an insurance to ride. A good relationship with local council must be maintained.
