Shallow water in the cove great to body drag or learn at. Wide open water outside of cove. Small rollers.

Sand, small pebbles, grass and camping. M.M. Point is the best all around spot, has a new beach and a great cove to catch you if you get sucked down wind.

South winds are the norm, gusty most of the time. 2 line kites and pulley bars don't work well here. 15-20 mph, a lot of days 25+ a few days 30+ mph. Best winds: mid March to mid June and September to October.

Get directions from


From Wichita KS East on highway 50 21.5 miles turn North on 2nd Cheney exit (Cheney Lake, 251 exit) go 5.5 miles to east side park entrance. After the park rangers booth take 1st right go 1.5 miles to M.M. Point turn left to stop sign, turn left 0.5 miles to the southwest side of the point.
