For a number of years now Brittas Bay has been awarded the Blue Flag for Beaches Award. This is the international emblem for the highest quality beach areas in Europe. Wicklow County Council has a beach management strategy for Brittas Bay and has provided car Parks, public toilets and board walks, and has attempted dune preservation. So the sandy beach is very clean. Long and at low tide wider.

Get directions from


Between Wicklow and Arklow. N11 (National Primary route #11) to Jack White's Cross, then follow sign-posted Third Class road 3km, East to Brittas Bay. Buses serve this beach.
