The channel, about 1 kilometers wide is between Sanur and Turtle Island, is very deep even with dead low tide, the water is quite flat and the wind here is always a few knots stronger than elsewhere. It is the best place for beginner kitesurfer in the dry season as the wind is perfectly sideshore. You need to wear shoes.

August: 50% of the days with 12-14 knots. September: 30% of the days with 12-14 knots. The wind in Bali during the Easterly trades is always on the range of 11 to 16 knots, no more. December and January: 30% of days with wind 12-20 knots from the West.

Serangan is a small island lying just off Bali's southern coast near Sanur. Turn on the white road in front of Makro and drive until the beach of the village.
