The next place is at the surf brake of Canggu, called `the old man wave` in front of the Hotel Tugu. Small reef and rocks in the water here and they are not easy to spot specially at medium-high tides. Please ask first the locals before you go in the water. If nobody is in the water better don't go. There are various channels to go out, one in front of the small Warung (local restaurant that serve good food very very affordable), one is exactly in front of the hotel beach. Look out for the big set, take your time to make your move. Be very careful at low tide or you can get dragged over the exposed reef. On the outside looking to the sea on the right there is a bommie (or big wave) with big swells and low tide is the ultimate place for `big waves`.

Best Direction: | E, ESE, SE, W, WNW, NW |
Main Direction: | E, ESE, SE, SW, WSW, W, WNW, NW |
The wind is sideoffshore but almost sideshore. It's pretty gusty specially near the beach break. It can happen, that if there is no wind on the east cost there is 14-18 knots of wind on this side. Some kind of venturi effect plus the land heating create more wind in this side. If the easterlies are strong the wind here is too offshore, go to Sanur or Nusa Dua instead. The wind is a bit cleaner then in Bolare as become more side shore, but still gusty on the beach.
