The beach is located in the Virgina State Park. It is a sandy beach on both side, the ocean and bay side. However, during the summer time, the access to the beach is restricted in order to protect the bird nesting area. The access re-opens in September. The shape of the beach is a half circle.

Virginia East coast. On Assateague Island. Take route 13. Then take route VA-175/Chincoteague Rd. Continue to follow VA-175 until you get onto Assateague Island. Her follow the Beach Road until you hit the ocean. Here turn right and drive until you see the sandy beach in between the bay and ocean.
