Beach not reserved for kitesurfers. Be aware of the swimmer zone. Starting and landing of Kites only on the right side of swimmer zone. This is the kiter zone. In summer when a lot of guests are there... kiting only after 5:00 p.m.

Works only in North wind. Good in spring and fall. During summer only few days with a good thermal. Never try to kite here during the local wind 'Foehn'. This southerly wind is very strong and super gusty.

Get directions from

From Salzburg to Kufstein, then towards Innsbruck. Exit at 'Wiesing/Achensee' and then to Maurach. From Innsbruck towards Kufstein and exit at 'Wiesing/Achensee' and then to Maurach. From Munich drive towards Salzburg and take the exit Holzkirchen, drive to Tegernsee, Achenpass or Bad Toelz, then over the border to Achenkirch and then along the lake to Maurach. Parking lot in Maurach 50m to the beach.

You need a license or the membership in the local kitesurfclub. Kitesurfing in summer only after 05:00 p.m. Additionally you need to buy a 'Wimpel' (= authorization to use the lake) from the local shipping administration which is located in Pertisau. Price approx. 14,00 Euro per season. Parking fee at the parking lot.

Several clubs in Fuegen (Zillertal). Otherwise go to Innsbruck.
