Flat to choppy water. On low tide you can have a big shallow area. Water clarity is poor. Also seaweed tends to clog up the lines.

Long, but narrow sandy beach. I was also not pleased with how much broken glass was on the beach. Horseshoe cove at Sandy Hook bay is much nicer (they also have showers).

From Garden State Pkwy get onto 36 east and in Port Monmouth get onto Main St and drive northeast. Turn left onto Wilson Ave and at its end turn left onto Port Monmouth Rd and then immediately turn right into the parking lot.
