Nice playground for all wind directions. Flat to choppy water in the channel and bay area, and flat areas along with small, but nice waves on the ocean. Look out for boat traffic. Be aware of the currents witch changing tides.

Get directions from


From Saint Augustine take State Hwy A1A (Vilano Beach Causeway) to Vilano Beach. Here find your way further south to the Porpoise Point Drive, from which you can access the beach with a 4x4. Park directly on the beach, next to the water. Know the tides.

Keep distance from the boats passing by. Avoid going out in a westerly wind with falling tide, which can wash you out to sea if something goes wrong.
